A group of our fantastic volunteers were recognised for their dedication and commitment, at an official ceremony marking the Amesbury Area Board’s Volunteers of the Year Awards. At a packed Antrobus House, awards were made to individuals and groups in a variety of categories.

Dave Roberts, Wiltshire Council’s Community Engagement Manager for Amesbury, was full of admiration for all the nominees; “ I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended, all those who nominated volunteers and supported on the night, but most of all the volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the community area. Without valuable volunteers, many of the projects that take place would fail. “

Cllr Darren Henry added: “This was a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the warmth and generosity of our Amesbury area communities. It is always the people who bring communities together and I was delighted to be a part of this special evening.”

Pictured after receiving their certificates from Amesbury’s Invictus Games athlete Cornelia Oosthuizen  are our own Iris, Kim, Leigh, Tiphanie and Collette, who was presented with a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Under 18s category. Congratulations to our brilliant volunteers, and all the other winners on the night.

Buzz Action Foundation was delighted to produce and contribute the goodie bags which were given to all the nominees, and we would like to thank the following Amesbury businesses for their kind contributions;

Tesco, Zaina’s Hairdressing, Miles of Value, Amesbury Post Office and B&M.
